Made For: Alicia & Josh – Radiant Engagement Ring & Signature Signet Wedding Band

Sometimes, the best designs aren't the ones you imagine first.

One of the things we love most about creating bespoke jewellery is watching a design evolve. Rarely does a journey begin and end with exactly the same vision, and that's never something we try to avoid. In fact, we believe that's where the magic of bespoke lies—giving yourself the freedom to explore, refine, and discover something that feels even more like you.

Alicia and Josh's journey reminded us of exactly that.

When Alicia first visited our studio in January 2025, she arrived with a clear idea of what she wanted: a princess-cut diamond set on a knife-edge band. It was a thoughtful starting point, one that reflected everything she had imagined before seeing the possibilities in person. But as our conversations continued and we explored different diamonds together, something unexpected happened.

Discovering the Ring That Felt Right

There wasn't one dramatic moment when everything changed.

Instead, the design evolved naturally over time. As Alicia compared different diamond cuts, she found herself returning to the radiant again and again. There was something about its proportions, its brilliance, and the way it caught the light that simply felt right. It wasn't the diamond she had originally come in for, but it quietly became the one she couldn't stop thinking about.

We often see this happen during Private Viewings. Sometimes our clients arrive convinced they already know exactly what they want, only to discover a completely different design once they experience the diamonds in person. That's one of the reasons we believe bespoke shouldn't be rushed. Some decisions simply need space to unfold.

Refining Every Detail Together

Once the radiant diamond found its place, the rest of the design began to follow.

The original knife-edge band gradually transformed into a softer rounded profile with delicate strips, creating a silhouette that felt beautifully balanced alongside the centre stone. As we refined the final details together, we added milgrain along the gallery rail—a subtle touch that brought texture and character without competing with the diamond itself.

Looking back now, it's difficult to imagine the ring any other way. Every refinement felt less like changing the design and more like revealing the one that had been waiting to emerge all along.

The Best Kind of Secret

Although Alicia played such an important role in designing the engagement ring, there was still one chapter of the story she wouldn't see coming.

When the ring was finally complete, it quietly left our studio in Josh's hands, waiting for the right moment. After months of conversations, sketches, and careful refinements, it was no longer just a bespoke piece of jewellery. It became part of a proposal, and eventually, one of the memories they would carry for the rest of their lives.

Moments like these are always bittersweet for us. We spend months getting to know a story, then suddenly the rings leave our hands to begin a new chapter with the people they were made for.

A Detail That Made Us Smile

Designing their wedding bands gave us another glimpse into what makes Alicia and Josh's relationship so uniquely theirs.

They wanted to include Kygo, Alicia's beloved poodle, in a way that felt playful without being obvious. Instead of engraving the full illustration onto each ring, we split the design in half—one half on Alicia's band and the other on Josh's. Individually, each engraving tells only part of the story. Together, they become complete.

It's one of those ideas we'll always remember because it couldn't belong to anyone else. Bespoke jewellery is at its most meaningful when the details don't just decorate a ring—they tell a story that only the people wearing it fully understand.

Alicia completed her bridal set with a diamond milgrain wedding band, while Josh chose a groom's signet ring featuring a baguette diamond. Different in design, yet connected by the same thoughtful approach that shaped every part of their journey.

Made for Their Story

When we think back on Alicia and Josh's journey, we don't remember a princess-cut diamond or a radiant diamond. We remember the conversations, the willingness to explore, and the trust they placed in the process.

Their story is a reminder that choosing a forever ring isn't about staying loyal to your very first idea. It's about discovering the design that continues to feel right every time you come back to it.

For Alicia, that design wasn't the one she imagined when she first walked into our studio.

It was the one she found along the way.
