Made For: Christina & Gamal – A Cushion Trilogy Ring from Jakarta to the U.S.

Some stories begin with a proposal.

For Christina and Gamal, it began much earlier—with a recommendation from a close friend who had created his own wedding rings with Karvi back in 2022.

When Gamal shared our page with Christina, she immediately connected with our craftsmanship and approach to bespoke jewellery. Although they were building their life in the United States, they knew they wanted the ring to be crafted in Indonesia. Having it made in Gamal's home country made the piece feel even more meaningful before it made its journey across the world.

From there, we began designing together.

A Cushion Trilogy Ring Christina Had Always Wanted

Christina came into the process with a clear vision.

She had always imagined her engagement ring as a three-stone design. Also known as a trilogy ring, the style features a centre diamond flanked by two side stones, creating a balanced silhouette while naturally drawing attention to the centre stone.

After exploring different proportions together, she chose a cushion-cut centre diamond paired with two side stones that complemented its soft shape. Every detail was carefully considered to create a ring that felt timeless and effortless to wear.

Although Christina was involved throughout the design process, she didn't know when the proposal would happen.

Gamal kept that part a surprise until her birthday weekend, when he proposed in front of the wine bar where they had shared their very first date.

Wedding Bands Designed for Each of Them

When it came time to design their wedding bands, Christina and Gamal each gravitated toward something different.

Christina chose The Ivy, customised with a wider band that sits beautifully alongside her engagement ring.

For Gamal, the choice was a Hammered Wedding Wand featuring birthstones tucked inside—a personal detail that isn't immediately visible but carries special meaning for the two of them.

Rather than creating matching rings, we focused on designing pieces that felt true to each person while naturally belonging together.

From Jakarta to the United States

One of our favourite parts of this project is the journey the rings took before they reached Christina and Gamal.

Designed and crafted in Jakarta, they travelled across the world to become part of a proposal, a wedding, and the beginning of a new chapter together in the United States.

Every bespoke project is different, but this one is a reminder that meaningful jewellery isn't defined by where you live. Sometimes, it's about carrying a piece of home with you, wherever life takes you.
