Made For: Ila & Arul – Emerald Engagement Ring with Hidden Birthstones
When a simple idea became something even more personal.
When Ila booked a Saturday Private Viewing with us, she already had a vision for her engagement ring.
She came in wanting to incorporate both her and her partner's birthstones into the design, inspired by a ring she had seen before. It was a beautiful starting point, and together, we began exploring how to make it truly hers.
As we looked at different possibilities, the design naturally evolved. Rather than featuring two birthstones, Ila found herself drawn to The Aster, one of our signature engagement ring designs. She decided to keep the sentiment, but express it in a different way.
An Emerald at the Heart of the Ring
Instead of combining two birthstones, Ila chose to celebrate her own story with an emerald at the centre of her engagement ring.
Once the design was finalised, we carefully sourced an emerald that complemented the proportions and character of The Aster, creating a ring that felt both timeless and deeply personal.
Sometimes, the most meaningful designs aren't the ones we imagine at the very beginning—they're the ones that take shape throughout the journey.
Wedding Bands with a Hidden Meaning
When it came time to design their wedding bands, Ila and Arul kept things timeless.
Ila chose our signature Hidden Eternity Band, while Arul opted for a classic rounded wedding band. As we discussed ways to make the rings feel even more personal, we suggested setting an amethyst—the birthstone of the month they were married—inside each band.
It's a detail that isn't visible when the rings are worn, but one that quietly marks an important chapter of their story.
